Chainlink Keepers is a decentralized service that allows developers to reliably automate regular smart contract triggers without the resources and risks associated with performing keeper operations manually or through centralized systems. Because Keepers automates key time- and event-based smart contract functions, it frees developers to focus on building new use cases across industries such as DeFi, insurance, gaming, and NFTs.
Since its mainnet launch last summer, a growing number of projects on multiple blockchains have integrated Keepers to perform a diverse set of functions, such as automating limit orders, prediction rounds, and liquidations.
This week, the Chainlink ecosystem surpassed 100 projects using Chainlink Keepers to boost their decentralization, efficiency, and user experience.
Among recent additions to the Keepers ecosystem is humanDAO, a social impact project using web3 tools to facilitate a decentralized gig economy. In June, humanDAO integrated Keepers on Polygon and Ethereum mainnet to automate the calculation of staking rewards for owners of its native token.
“Until now, the processes behind our staking rewards were manual and centralized,” humanDAO’s content lead, Adam Dawson, told Chainlink Today. “Chainlink Keepers streamlines and automates reward calculations, creating a much more robust and reliable experience for our community and a great introduction to crypto.”
Enterprise-grade fintech platform COTI built the Crypto Volatility Index (CVI), which previously integrated Keepers to help rebase its volatility tokens. In July, CVI’s new impermanent loss protection platform, Armadillo, also integrated Keepers to help securely and cost-efficiently automate incurred impermanent loss payouts to liquidity providers.
In an interview with Chainlink Today, COTI’s Chief Innovation Officer, Yoni Neeman, said the Chainlink Network’s “unmatched reliability” made integrating Keepers to help secure Armadillo users’ funds an important milestone.
As more projects integrate Keepers and the new Keepers Job Scheduler as industry-standard decentralized automation infrastructure, more developers can outsource routine maintenance tasks to focus on developing more advanced hybrid smart contracts. Considering DeFi’s exponential growth over just the past few years, Keepers offers the potential to accelerate these advancements by orders of magnitude.
