Seven Use Cases For Chainlink Keepers

Chainlink Keepers is a decentralized service that allows developers to reliably automate regular smart contract triggers without the resources and risks associated with performing keeper operations manually or through centralized systems. Because Keepers automates key time- and event-based smart contract functions, it frees developers to focus on building new use cases across industries such as DeFi, insurance, gaming, and NFT art.

Since its mainnet launch last summer, Keepers has been integrated by 70+ projects in the Chainlink ecosystem. Here are just a few of the diverse functions Keepers can perform.

Automate Limit Orders

Kromatika, a decentralized trading protocol for executing limit orders on top of the Uniswap DEX, initially integrated Keepers to automate limit orders on Ethereum mainnet. Recently, Kromatika expanded its Keepers integration to Polygon’s layer-2 solution in order to broaden its user base through lower gas fees and free its development team to focus on releasing the protocol to be governed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).

Automatically Distribute Rent Revenue

LaProp is a real estate investment platform that fractionalizes and tokenizes property ownership on the blockchain. The platform integrated Chainlink Keepers on BNB Chain to automatically distribute rent revenue to its token holders in regular weekly or monthly intervals. LaProp CEO Alejandro Jaramillo told Chainlink Today that Keepers improves the user experience by making it fully automated, transparent, and decentralized so there’s no need to trust a central entity.

Automate Prediction Rounds

0bOptions is an automated prediction market on Polygon that integrated Keepers to securely and cost-efficiently automate its five-minute prediction rounds. Prior to integrating Keepers, 0bOptions used a more centralized process that could not guarantee rounds were executed every five minutes. Keepers now allows 0bOptions to reference the most accurate price data at the end of each round.

Automate Token Vesting

Cratos is a vote-to-earn (V2E) cryptocurrency platform for real-time polling about any user-generated topic. Users earn the platform’s native token by registering, creating vote topics, voting, and commenting daily. In order to further decentralize its platform and improve its user experience, Cratos integrated Keepers to automate the token vesting process.

Automatically Trigger Prize Drawings

DCB World is an NFT project that combines AI-generated NFTs from the work of internationally renowned artists with the chance to win additional rewards. On top of integrating Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) to fairly and transparently select random winners, DCB World integrated Keepers to automatically trigger prize drawings.

Auto-Compound DeFi Vaults

Pacoca is a DeFi dashboard that integrated Chainlink Keepers on BNB Chain to reliably auto-compound its Sweet Vaults in a decentralized, trustless, and tamper-proof manner. Pacoca’s team told Chainlink Today that Keepers scales Pacoca’s security in sync with its growing user base and pushes the protocol to be “truer to Satoshi Nakamoto’s mission for decentralized protocols.”

Automate Liquidations

bZx is a non-custodial DeFi protocol that integrated Chainlink Keepers to increase the reliability of its liquidation mechanism, boost protection for both lenders and borrowers, and enhance its user experience. bZx CEO Tom Bean called integrating Keepers “a natural next step” following the protocol’s successful integration of Chainlink Price Feeds, while bZx’s marketing director Angelo Adam told Chainlink Today that Keepers is a key differentiator for building the “best decentralized margin trading platform available.”
