During HederaCon 2026, Chainlink Labs’ Head of Tokenization, Colin Cunningham, and Euroclear’s Global Head of Innovation and Digital Assets, Jorgen Ouaknine, appeared on CoinDesk Live to talk about building a secure foundation for digital-native assets that are fully interoperable with traditional financial systems.
As the industry-leading oracle network, Chainlink has facilitated over $30 trillion in transaction value and is the only data and interoperability solution that meets three key institutional security standards: SOC 2 Type 1, SOC 2 Type 2, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
Euroclear’s global financial market infrastructure connects Europe to more than 45 markets while settling the equivalent of the world’s GDP each month and holding over €41 trillion in assets.
Through a series of collaborations, Chainlink and Euroclear are laying the foundation for scaling digital assets by delivering and validating critical data onchain.
Euroclear is among 24 major financial institutions collaborating with Chainlink to standardize corporate actions processing using oracles and AI. The solution is designed to save the global financial industry tens of billions of dollars in annual processing costs with minimal disruption to existing systems. Standardizing corporate actions data onchain is also a critical component of tokenized real-world assets such as tokenized equities.
Ouaknine said the collaboration shows how the industry has evolved from disruption to real-world cooperation.
“Now it’s about partnerships and partnerships for a specific reason – we want to scale.”
Amid recent cross-chain bridge hacks, Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) has emerged as the industry’s most resilient interoperability standard featuring the highest level of cross-chain security backed by a separate Risk Management Network.
“When you move at scale, when you move at speed, the first thing that you have to have in place is standards,” Cunningham explained.
“We’re plugged into over 2,500 different applications and 97% of all market value that moves on blockchains is moving through or available to Chainlink rails. You don’t get to those types of numbers, and that type of support, and that type of ecosystem, unless you’ve built financial market technology that the world’s organizations can continue to rely on and continue to build on.”
“We innovate to bring safety, efficiency, and connection, but safety is the first word,” Ouaknine agreed.
Cunningham believes the conversation at next year’s HederaCon will revolve around secure, scalable digital assets that move freely between blockchains and traditional financial systems. This next level of adoption will involve every organization within major financial institutions.
“It’s going to take legal, it’s going to take risk, it’s going to take compliance, it’s going to take regulatory, but I think the market is ready for that and Chainlink is uniquely positioned for that moment with what we’ve built.”
