Inside SmartCon #1’s Lineup Of World-Changing Panelists

Tomorrow marks three weeks until the start of Smart Contract Summit #1, the premier smart contract and DeFi conference and the largest annual Chainlink ecosystem event. Registration is open and tickets are free for the virtual conference, which will take place August 5-7, 2021. SmartCon #1 will feature three full days of keynotes, panels, workshops and AMAs from top entrepreneurs, enterprise leaders and some of the most prominent developers in the Chainlink ecosystem.

Last year’s SmartCon #0 brought together more than 8,000 people from over 100 countries and all seven continents to hear over 130 experts share the latest research and technology innovating decentralized industries throughout the world. This year’s SmartCon promises to be even more monumental, with a world-class lineup of over 200 panelists representing top DeFi protocols, dynamic NFT projects, Layer 1s and Layer 2s, parametric insurance providers, leading researchers and influential minds at Chainlink Labs, including Chainlink Co-founder, Sergey Nazarov, and Chief Scientist at Chainlink Labs, Ari Juels.

The goal of SmartCon is to create a unique virtual forum where participants can interact with the people pioneering Web 3.0, growing DeFi, revolutionizing insurance and more with new advanced use cases for hybrid smart contracts powered by Chainlink’s decentralized oracle networks (DONs). This year’s themes will explore the future of DeFi, enterprise blockchain adoption, decentralized oracle networks and novel applications of hybrid smart contracts outlined in the Chainlink 2.0 whitepaper.

Director of Community at Chainlink Labs, Rory Piant, said SmartCon #1 participants will have front-row seats to the most important discussions happening right now. “Attendees can expect to attend a wide range of different panels, each featuring incredibly well-informed people who are at the forefront of the topic at hand,” he said. “Listeners can ask questions, listen in, and interact with the people running their favorite projects through different panels, workshops, AMAs, and more.”

Among SmartCon #1’s speakers are founders and CEOs whose projects have integrated Chainlink to accelerate the path toward a more secure, economically fair world and reinvent the ways people create, monetize and collect art and memorabilia. Notable panelists include Arbol CEO, Sid Jha; OTONOMI CEO, Yann Barbarroux; ChainGuardians CEO, Emma Liu; Jarvis Network CEO, Pascal Tallarida; Strata Co-founder, Jasper Degens; Unstoppable Domains Co-founder, Brad Kam and Tiingo CEO, Rishi Singh, who is also a contributor to Chainlink Today

Piant said SmartCon is a forum for developers, entrepreneurs and researchers to see for themselves the value Chainlink is bringing to their industries by expanding its scope through Chainlink 2.0 and services like Chainlink Keepers, which enables easy automation of regular smart contract maintenance tasks and sets the stage for the rise of truly autonomous and self-executing hybrid smart contracts.

“This year’s SmartCon is a testament to how inextricable the Chainlink Network has become to the larger blockchain ecosystem,” Piant said. “While other projects reinvent the way business is done, Chainlink provides them the tools to support, automate, and level-up their smart contracts.”

In the weeks leading up to SmartCon #1, Chainlink Today will feature exclusive interviews with the event’s most highly anticipated speakers about how far their projects have come and what’s on the horizon as the entire Chainlink ecosystem works together to fulfill the vision of Chainlink 2.0.
