Sei Adopts Chainlink Data Streams As Preferred Oracle Infrastructure

Today the Sei Development Foundation and Chainlink announced that Sei Network, the fastest layer-1 EVM blockchain for high-frequency applications, has integrated Chainlink Data Streams as its preferred oracle infrastructure

Data Streams is a pull-based oracle solution that allows protocols to consume data more cost-effectively and at lower latencies while reducing the possibility of frontrunning and MEV. Leveraging Chainlink’s time-tested oracle infrastructure, which has enabled over $25 trillion in transaction value, Data Streams expand DeFi’s reach and unlock advanced products like perpetual futures contracts that require lower gas fees and faster price updates.

Sei is a high-performance blockchain that unites the speed and scalability of Solana with Ethereum’s developer-friendly environment to optimize decentralized finance, gaming, and consumer applications. Sei’s EVM compatibility, parallelized execution, high throughput, and sub-second finality, combined with Data Streams’ secure, reliable, high-frequency market data, creates a strong foundation for innovative use cases across industries.

The integration comes on the heels of Chainlink’s collaboration with the United States Department of Commerce (DOC) to bring U.S. government macroeconomic data onchain from the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). In addition to market-leading institutional-grade price data, Chainlink Data Feeds will deliver key metrics representing real GDP, the PCE Price Index, and real final sales to private domestic purchasers on Sei.

Chainlink also recently launched Data Streams for major U.S. equities and ETFs including SPY, CRCL, QQQ, NVDA, AAPL, and MSFT, with additional markets and asset classes on the horizon. Integrating Chainlink Data Streams positions Sei’s ecosystem at the forefront of the U.S. government’s pivotal shift toward validating blockchains as vital financial infrastructure.

“Data Streams’ ultra-low-latency delivery of market data, coupled with its battle-tested infrastructure, made it an obvious choice for the Sei ecosystem,” said Justin Barlow, Executive Director at Sei Development Foundation, in an official announcement.

“We’re excited to see Chainlink Data Streams integrated on Sei, as this expands Chainlink’s footprint into a fast-growing ecosystem that supports next-gen DeFi protocols and institutional use cases,” added Thodoris Karakostas, Director of Blockchain and Product Partnerships at Chainlink Labs.

“With Data Streams available on Sei, developers gain a robust foundation for building innovative onchain products, accelerating adoption and ecosystem growth.”
