Today Chainlink and Aptos Foundation, an organization supporting the development and ecosystem of the Aptos layer-1 blockchain, announced that Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is now live on Aptos.
Aptos is the first blockchain utilizing the Move programming language to adopt CCIP. The integration allows DeFi protocols such as Aave and asset issuers such as Bedrock to expand across the Aptos ecosystem.
CCIP leverages Chainlink’s industry-leading decentralized oracle network, which has enabled over $25 trillion in transaction value across 60 blockchain networks to achieve the highest level of cross-chain security. Developers on supported blockchains can use the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard to turn any ERC-20-compatible token into a CCT with additional security and reliability benefits.
Aave, the world’s largest DeFi platform with $67 billion in net deposits and over $28 billion in active loans, will make its algorithmic U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin, GHO, available on Aptos as a CCT. Bedrock’s uniBTC and brBTC are also now CCTs on Aptos, where users can transfer assets via the CCIP-powered Interport application.
Last year, Aptos joined the Chainlink Scale program to accelerate the growth of its ecosystem through Chainlink’s industry-leading web3 services. In January, Aptos integrated Chainlink Data Feeds to give developers seamless access to the high-quality, tamper-proof data needed to build advanced decentralized applications. CCIP allows financial institutions leveraging Chainlink to enter the Aptos ecosystem, expanding its tokenized real-world asset economy.
“We’re excited to see Chainlink CCIP launch on Aptos, further strengthening the institutional readiness of the Aptos ecosystem,” said Ash Pampati, SVP, Head of Ecosystem at Aptos Foundation, in an official announcement.
“From powering secure cross-chain applications to enabling tokenized asset flows and institutional use cases, this integration provides the infrastructure needed for the next wave of innovation.”
“The launch of CCIP on Aptos is a significant step forward in creating a unified cross-chain ecosystem where value and data move seamlessly across both EVM and non-EVM chains,” added Thodoris Karakostas, Director, Blockchain and Product Partnerships at Chainlink Labs.
“With CCIP now live on Aptos, developers can build applications that tap into global liquidity, support tokenized real-world assets, and gain access to Chainlink’s institutional ecosystem.”
