Olympus Adopts Chainlink CCIP To Power Cross-Chain OHM Transfers

Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is the industry standard for digital asset and data transfer used by leading blockchains, layer-2s, DeFi protocols, and traditional financial institutions to unlock new use cases and markets for crypto, stablecoins, and tokenized assets

This week, Olympus, a programmatic treasury-backed framework for monetary policy, credit, and liquidity, integrated CCIP as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure following a unanimous DAO vote. Olympus is leveraging CCIP’s Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard to support cross-chain transfers of its native token, OHM.

The initial integration will facilitate OHM transfers between Ethereum and Solana, with deployments on additional chains such as Arbitrum, Base, Berachain, and Optimism to be considered through future governance proposals.

While a traditional stablecoin is pegged to a specific fiat currency such as USD, OHM functions as a flatcoin designed to maintain purchasing power by adjusting its value to reflect the cost of living. Each OHM token is backed by a diversified portfolio of real, productive assets held in the Olympus treasury.

CCIP leverages Chainlink’s time-tested oracle infrastructure, which has enabled over $21 trillion in transaction value, to achieve the highest level of cross-chain security reinforced by a separate Risk Management Network. The CCT standard allows developers on supported blockchains to turn any ERC-20-compatible token into a CCT with additional security and reliability benefits, including configurable rate limits, self-serve deployments, and zero-slippage transfers.

“Adopting the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard via Chainlink CCIP provides Olympus with unmatched security and flexibility, strengthening our ability to operate across a multi-chain ecosystem,” said Olympus CMO FattyBagz, in an official announcement.

“Olympus’s adoption of the Chainlink interoperability standard highlights their commitment to pioneering secure and seamless cross-chain DeFi experiences,” added Luke Lim, Head of CCIP GTM at Chainlink Labs. “We look forward to supporting Olympus as they continue to innovate and grow their platform.”
