Today, MegaETH, the first real-time blockchain, announced its adoption of Chainlink Data Streams to power the next generation of onchain finance. The first-of-its-kind integration delivers Chainlink’s highly accurate market data at sub-second latency through a native precompile to MegaETH’s execution environment, laying the foundation for real-time DeFi.
Data Streams is a pull-based oracle solution that allows protocols to consume data more cost-effectively and at lower latencies while reducing the possibility of frontrunning and MEV. Leveraging Chainlink’s time-tested oracle infrastructure, which has enabled over $25 trillion in transaction value, Data Streams expand DeFi’s reach and unlock advanced products like perpetual futures contracts that require lower gas fees and faster price updates.
The integration introduces a novel oracle model that combines the security of traditional oracles with the immediacy of streaming data. With seamless access to Chainlink’s high-frequency market data on MegaETH, applications supporting perpetuals, prediction markets, and stablecoins can achieve the responsiveness and precision of centralized exchanges while retaining full onchain composability.
Introduced earlier this year, MegaETH is secured by Ethereum and powered by a hyper-optimized execution environment with a heterogeneous architecture. Designed to achieve web2-level performance, it delivers streaming throughput with 10 millisecond block times and up to 100,000 transactions per second. Developers can scale apps with real-time state streaming while users benefit from instant transactions.
“Deploying Chainlink Data Streams to MegaETH as the native real-time oracle solution gives builders access to low-latency, efficient market data onchain,” said Lei Yang, co-founder and CTO of MegaETH, in an official announcement. “The Chainlink data standard is critical to building the next generation of real-time DeFi applications.”
