SmartCon, Chainlink’s annual premier web3 conference, will take place November 4-5 at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Pavilion, marking the event’s return to New York City for the first time since 2022.
This year’s theme, “From Crypto to Capitol Hill,” will feature transformative web3 use cases across capital markets and governments around the world, with a spotlight on the U.S. digital asset landscape.
This week, Chainlink published the event’s agenda and featured speakers from some of the world’s largest financial institutions such as Swift, JPMorgan, and Mastercard, as well as blockchain industry pioneers such as Aave and Optimism.
November 4 will feature a keynote speech from Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov, who has made several trips to the capitol this year, attending the Inaugural Crypto Ball and personally addressing the President at the first White House Crypto Summit.
In meetings with Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Artificial Intelligence, Bryan Steil, as well as Counselor to the Secretary of Treasury for Digital Assets, Tyler Williams, Nazarov has underscored the U.S. imperative to safeguard the dollar’s global status by moving quickly to issue the most high-quality, reliable tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) onchain.
SmartCon Day 1 will feature presentations on topics related to the convergence of TradFi and DeFi capital markets, as well as real-world government use cases for blockchain and oracle technology.
Day 2 will focus on web3 topics including derivatives, liquid staking, Bitcoin-driven DeFi (BTCFi), and stablecoins, followed by SmartCon After Dark – the official closing party.
Last year’s SmartCon drew thousands to Hong Kong, where more than 100 expert speakers gathered to highlight the convergence of TradFi and DeFi into a better, more efficient global financial system.
