Chainlink Data Streams is a pull-based oracle solution that allows protocols to consume data more cost-effectively and at lower latencies while reducing the risk of frontrunning and MEV. Data Streams leverages Chainlink’s time-tested oracle infrastructure, which has enabled over $19 trillion in transaction value, to expand DeFi’s reach and unlock advanced products like perpetual futures contracts that require lower gas fees and faster price updates.
This week, leading zero-knowledge rollup Scroll officially integrated Data Streams on mainnet to unlock the next generation of high-throughput DeFi markets and decentralized exchanges (DEXs) with optimized execution speeds and a seamless user experience that rivals the performance of centralized exchanges (CEXs).
Scroll is a fully EVM-equivalent zk-rollup that combines zero-knowledge proofs and zk-rollup technology to create a highly secure, decentralized, censorship-resistant network that supports feature-rich decentralized applications with better scalability, privacy, and cost-efficiency.
In 2023, Scroll announced its partnership with Chainlink Labs and joined the Chainlink Scale program to expand its ecosystem by giving developers enhanced access to Chainlink’s essential web3 infrastructure, starting with Chainlink Data Feeds. Last October, Scroll integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to facilitate advanced cross-chain applications that can securely transmit tokens and data between distinct blockchain networks.
“We’re excited to see the standard for low-latency market data live on Scroll,” said Raza Zaidi, Head of Growth at Scroll, in an official announcement.
“Chainlink Data Streams enable Scroll developers to build high-performance dApps underpinned by Chainlink’s decentralized, credibly neutral infrastructure. This provides developers with the tools to unlock new possibilities in DeFi innovation, as we continue to build the Open Economy.”
“We’re pleased to help power ultra-fast, easy-to-use DeFi apps on Scroll with the Chainlink standard for low-latency market data,” added Thodoris Karakostas, Head of Blockchain Partnerships at Chainlink Labs.
“By delivering unmatched speed and resiliency, Chainlink Data Streams supports the creation of next-gen dApps that maintain the high-security guarantees of onchain finance.”
