Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) is the industry standard for digital asset and data transfer used by leading blockchain layer-1s, layer-2s, DeFi protocols, and traditional financial institutions to unlock new use cases and markets for crypto, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
Today as part of the Road to SmartCon, Pharos, a programmable open financial layer-1, announced it’s adopting CCIP as its canonical cross-chain infrastructure for powering secure interoperable RWA markets. Pharos is also adopting Chainlink Data Streams to support high-performance RWA markets with ultra-fast and accurate price data.
Pharos was founded by former AntChain and Ant Financial blockchain leaders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions for institutions exploring green finance, digital payments, programmable ownership, and asset tokenization. CCIP and Data Streams provide essential infrastructure for Pharos to make institutional-grade RWAs widely accessible to individual investors and drive overall adoption.
Leveraging Chainlink’s time-tested oracle infrastructure, which has facilitated over $26 trillion in transaction value, CCIP achieves the highest level of cross-chain security backed by a separate Risk Management Network. With the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, developers on supported blockchains can turn any ERC-20-compatible token into a CCT with numerous security and reliability benefits such as configurable rate limits, self-serve deployments, and zero-slippage transfers.
Data Streams is a pull-based oracle solution that allows protocols to consume data more cost-effectively and at lower latencies while reducing the possibility of frontrunning and MEV. Data Streams expand DeFi’s reach by fueling advanced products like perpetual futures contracts that require lower gas fees and faster price updates.
In an official announcement, Chainlink Labs’ Chief Business Officer, Johann Eid, called the integrations “a major step forward” in the development of secure, performant, cross-chain applications.
“By adopting the Chainlink interoperability standard, Pharos enables builders to launch institutionally scalable applications for tokenized real-world assets, powered by the same secure Chainlink infrastructure that has already enabled tens of trillions in onchain transaction value,” he said.
“The Chainlink standard is essential tokenization infrastructure for Pharos,” added Pharos co-founder and CEO, Wish Wu.
“By adopting CCIP as our canonical cross-chain standard and adopting Data Streams for low-latency price data, we’re enabling builders and institutions to launch tokenized asset solutions that meet enterprise performance and security requirements from day one.”
