Chainlink Announces Block Magic Hackathon With Over $400K In Prizes

Today, Chainlink, the industry-standard decentralized computing platform, announced the Chainlink Block Magic Hackathon, running from April 29 to June 2, 2024. Offering over $400,000 in prizes across multiple categories, the hackathon will provide “a clear and focused one-month path to getting from zero to one” for first-time developers, experienced blockchain developers, and seasoned web2 developers looking to build a career in web3.

In March 2023, there were an estimated 60,000 blockchain-based developers globally, representing a tiny fraction of the world’s 26+ million developers. With the recent Bitcoin ETF approval accelerating an already rapidly growing space, web3 developers are in extremely high demand.

Chainlink’s industry-leading decentralized oracle infrastructure, which has securely enabled over $10.5 trillion in transaction value, comprises a comprehensive suite of web3 services connecting blockchains to real-world data and computation, enabling the creation of advanced web3 applications alongside the tokenization of real-world assets onchain

Registration for the Block Magic Hackathon is complementary and participants who submit a completed project that utilizes at least one Chainlink service will be eligible to win 1st and 2nd prizes in three main tracks: Financial Services, Artificial Intelligence, and Gaming & Consumer Apps, with additional prizes awarded to projects with the best UI/UX and the best video demo.

Additionally, all hackathon winners will be considered for admission into the Chainlink BUILD program, which fosters promising early-stage startups and established projects in Chainlink’s ecosystem through enhanced access to essential Chainlink infrastructure, new product alpha and beta releases, and technical support.
