Turtle Establishes Chainlink CCIP As Preferred Cross-Chain Infrastructure

Liquidity distribution protocol Turtle has joined DeFi’s mass migration from legacy infrastructure to the Chainlink standard. After a LayerZero exploit that resulted in nearly $300 million in losses across DeFi last month, Turtle made Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) its preferred cross-chain infrastructure.

Numerous leading DeFi protocols with a combined TVL of more than $4 billion have recently upgraded to CCIP’s secure-by-default oracle infrastructure. Compared to bridge solutions with only one or two centrally controlled nodes, each CCIP bridge lane is secured by 16 independent, security-reviewed node operators, ensuring every cross-chain transaction is redundantly validated.

CCIP maintains the highest level of cross-chain security, backed by a separate Risk Management Network. The Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard allows developers on supported networks to turn any ERC-20-compatible token into a CCT with additional security and reliability benefits including configurable rate limits, self-serve deployments, and zero-slippage transfers.

Having coordinated over $5.5 billion in liquidity, Turtle standardizes how liquidity is sourced, structured, and deployed onchain for over 410,000 participants worldwide. Earlier this year, Turtle formed a strategic partnership with Chainlink to fortify its liquidity routing and risk assessment systems via Chainlink Data Feeds and CCIP.

Turtle’s updated due diligence framework now prefers cross-chain tokens powered by CCIP, and prices assets relying on configurable, ad hoc bridging approaches like LayerZero with a haircut. As the gold standard for bringing institutional liquidity onchain and the recommended solution for issuers, CCIP lets allocators quantify and price risk with precision, while eliminating single points of failure and compressing time-to-deal.
