Morph, a consumer-focused Ethereum layer-2 designed to securely scale web3 payments, has integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as the exclusive cross-chain issuance and transfer mechanism for Bitget Token (BGB).
CCIP leverages Chainlink’s industry-standard decentralized oracle infrastructure, which has enabled over $28 trillion in transaction value, to transfer digital assets and data with the highest level of cross-chain security backed by a separate Risk Management Network.
CCIP now facilitates programmable token transfers on Morph, allowing developers to transfer stablecoins, BGB, and data between Morph and major blockchains within a single coordinated cross-chain transaction. The ability to transfer tokens with programmable instructions unlocks previously impossible payment and settlement use cases.
With a market cap over $2.1 billion, BGB is the native utility token for the Bitget cryptocurrency exchange and its decentralized wallet ecosystem, as well as the gas and settlement token for Morph. Using CCIP, the Morph Foundation is moving 50% of the total BGB supply to Morph, while ensuring consistent liquidity, stronger guarantees, and predictable behavior as the ecosystem continues to scale.
“The combination of Morph and BGB is creating one of the most transformative assets in the crypto space,” said Morph CEO, Colin Goltra, in an official announcement.
“With supply migration and regular burning on Morph as core parts of the BGB roadmap, Chainlink CCIP plays a critical role in enabling secure, scalable cross-chain movement that supports real-world payment use cases.”
CCIP provides a single secure and reliable framework to synchronize BGB and stablecoin liquidity across networks, reducing fragmentation and supporting enterprise adoption. Combined with Morph’s Emerald upgrade, CCIP turns BGB into the blueprint for how future digital assets such as stablecoins and institutional tokens are issued and managed on Morph.
“Cross-chain reliability isn’t just a technical goal – it’s essential for institutional adoption,” said Bitget CEO, Gracy Chen.
“By aligning BGB with Chainlink CCIP and the Morph network, we’re setting a clear, auditable framework that enterprises can trust. Bitget’s vision is to make interoperability a default standard for global payments, not a challenge that builders must overcome.”
“By adopting Chainlink CCIP as the exclusive cross-chain interoperability solution for BGB issuance and transfer, Morph is defining how assets should move across chains at an institutional scale,” added Chainlink Labs’ Chief Business Officer, Johann Eid.
“This is how you turn cross-chain from a risk factor into a strategic advantage. It’s a clear signal of where onchain payments are heading next.”
