Metis Integrates Chainlink Price Feeds As Cornerstone Of Growing DeFi Ecosystem

Metis Andromeda is a layer-2 network built on top of Ethereum to be low-cost and highly scalable. The Metis Virtual Machine (MVM) enables developers to build feature-rich, fully functional, cost-effective dapps, with protocols like Beefy Finance, Pickle Finance, and Synapse Network already populating Metis’ burgeoning DeFi ecosystem.

Today, Metis announced that it has entered its next phase of growth with the native integration of Chainlink Price Feeds. Developers on Metis now have access to the high-quality decentralized price data necessary to build advanced smart contract applications from the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, which already secures tens of billions of dollars in DeFi.

Metis co-founder and CTO Yuan Su told Chainlink Today he anticipates the integration will drive significant innovation within the Metis ecosystem.

“I’m extremely thrilled about the Chainlink Price Feeds integration because it is the cornerstone of our DeFi ecosystem on Metis,” he said. “I expect to see many innovative DeFi protocols to come and supply for the capital market for the business running on Metis Andromeda.”

Metis Andromeda, led by the Metis DAO, features several unique capabilities including a peer-to-peer sequencer layer and native functions for decentralized autonomous companies (DACs). Su said Chainlink oracles, which have historically proven resilient to outlier events like extreme market fluctuations and flash loan attacks, are integral to empowering Metis’ developers and users.

“To make the DeFi ecosystem mature and stable, a reliable price feed is critical,” he said. Chainlink’s robust architecture based on decentralization will inject a lot of confidence into Metis’ DeFi ecosystem.”

Su said it “feels very fitting” for Metis to join the Chainlink ecosystem of more than 1,400 projects integrating Chainlink oracles. The integration was a carefully engineered joint effort that fulfills Metis’ long-time goal.

“We have a lot in common in terms of vision,” Su said of the teams building Metis and Chainlink. “The integration took some time because of certain unique architectural design elements of Metis, but both teams worked extremely well together to make the integration possible. I feel very proud of both teams and look forward to the future.”
