Today, Gains Network announced the long-term cross-chain roadmap for its decentralized leveraged perpetuals platform, gTrade, will include two critical pieces of Chainlink infrastructure: Data Streams and Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). Operating on the Arbitrum and Polygon blockchains, gTrade supports 134 pairs across crypto, forex, and commodities markets, having facilitated over 1.39 million trades and $56.5 billion in total trade volume to date.
As the industry-leading decentralized computing platform, Chainlink’s expanding suite of web3 services is secured by the same time-tested oracle network that has delivered over 11.5 billion data points and enabled more than $9.5 trillion in transaction value onchain.
Data Streams is a pull-based oracle solution that allows dApps and DEXs to consume data more cost-effectively and at lower latencies while reducing the risk of frontrunning and MEV. Combined with automated execution through Chainlink Automation, Data Streams’ low-latency market data can unlock ultra-fast, user-friendly DeFi derivatives products and enable highly performant DEXs that rival the trading experience of centralized exchanges.
gTrade will use Data Streams to “significantly improve its reliability and decentralization” by securing trade execution, conditional orders, and liquidations. Integrating Data Streams will expand gTrade’s existing use of Chainlink’s infrastructure in its custom decentralized oracle network used for price validation, while paving the way for future Chainlink integrations as needed to support gTrade’s evolving capabilities.
CCIP is Chainlink’s global standard for cross-chain asset and information transfer that achieves the highest level of security by utilizing multiple decentralized networks to secure a single cross-chain transaction and a separate Risk Management Network that independently examines cross-chain functions for erroneous activity. gTrade plans to use CCIP to facilitate cross-chain staking and gToken vaults.
In an official announcement, Gains Network Founder Seb indicated Chainlink will play a vital role in gTrade’s cross-chain evolution in 2024 and beyond:
“gTrade is excited to integrate the industry-standard Chainlink Data Streams and CCIP to unlock next-gen DeFi performance while remaining decentralized end to end. Data Streams will secure real-time on-chain trades and CCIP will help enable safe cross-chain staking and governance.”
