As the industry-standard decentralized computing platform, Chainlink has enabled over $12 trillion in transaction value and provides a comprehensive set of services that power a growing ecosystem of more than 2,000 web3 projects. The Chainlink BUILD program fosters promising early-stage startups and established projects within this ecosystem through enhanced access to essential Chainlink infrastructure, technical support, and mutually aligned economic incentives that boost the network’s cryptoeconomic security and advance web3 as a whole.
Dolomite, a margin protocol and DEX, was one of the first ten projects accepted into BUILD back in 2022. In an interview with Chainlink Today, Dolomite co-founder Corey Caplan explained why Chainlink services such as Price Feeds and Automation are vital for creating new capabilities that accelerate mainstream adoption of trust-minimized financial applications.
“I see Chainlink becoming a backbone for far more services that increase the overall robustness and reliability of DeFi,” he said.
In a new video, Caplan reflected on how Chainlink continues to remain steadfast as a source of cryptographic truth.
“Looking back at the past couple years of DeFi, a lot of trust has been marred by the bankruptcies, the DeFi hacks and exploits, and it’s been nice to see Chainlink be a consistent beacon,” he said. “We wanted to latch onto that and project this aura of strength throughout that time period. It has done wonders for us to continue to grow and facilitate trust with users.”
He emphasized Chainlink’s role in taking DeFi to new heights while upholding its core principles of decentralization.
“If you look more closely at DeFi overall, it’s all built or predicated on permissionlessness and being able to interact with a counterparty that you don’t necessarily know,” he explained. “It’s really important to work with parties that uphold those same values and are willing to push them forward no matter what, and that’s what Chainlink means to us.”
He said Dolomite’s roadmap includes expanding its reach with Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) in the near future.
“Over the next year for Dolomite, I hope to see it deployed on more networks using things like CCIP to offer a more seamless experience and also to see Dolomite continue to grow and be that similar beacon to what Chainlink has been.”
