Scroll is a fully EVM-equivalent zkRollup that combines zero-knowledge proofs and zkRollup technology to support feature-rich decentralized applications with enhanced scalability, privacy, and cost-efficiency backed by the Ethereum network’s security. In August, Scroll announced its partnership with Chainlink Labs and joined the Chainlink SCALE program to accelerate its ecosystem’s growth by giving developers access to Chainlink’s foundational web3 infrastructure.
Today, Chainlink Data Feeds went live on Scroll’s mainnet, providing developers with the high-quality, reliable, decentralized market data needed to build secure, scalable, advanced DeFi applications.
In an official announcement, Scroll co-founder and Head of Engineering Haichen Shen, who described Chainlink oracles as foundational to Scroll’s open, community-driven effort to scale Ethereum, said Chainlink Data Feeds will exponentially expand Scroll’s DeFi ecosystem.
“The efficiency, accuracy, and decentralization of data feeds enable the creation of secure DeFi applications, which will foster the adoption of the next billion Ethereum developers,” he said.
Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, said developers on Scroll can now build cutting-edge applications that solve important use cases, bringing DeFi and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) closer toward mass adoption.
“We’re excited to support the growth of the Scroll ecosystem as we are already seeing a huge number of Dapp developers building DeFi and RWA applications on Scroll, and we are proud to be a part of this vibrant growth,” he said.
